Shay Pfeiffer is an Anglo Southwestern Jeweler
MFA candidate in the School of Jewelry and Metal Arts at the Academy of Art University located in San Francisco. Shay uses recycled precious metals and ethically sourced, mine to market stones in her work.
Shay's work focuses around the idea that Control is an Illusion of the Human Mind and only through total loss of control can one truly regain control of both oneself as well as one's life. Shay finds inspiration in the southwestern landscape and ecosystem, finding beauty amidst the chaos in the web of life. Shay has been named one of the Society of North American Goldsmith's
"Future 50" Artists. When Shay isn't busy moving metal in her studio she pushes herself to move as much metal as possible as she can at the gym with the hopes of one day growing strong enough to break free from the chains of life's control.
